Nokomis Days 2022

August 5-7

NOKOMIS DAYS: Bringing a Beloved Tradition Back to Nokomis East, August 5-7

The Nokomis East community is lucky to be home to so many businesses, both storefront and home-based. Some are new additions who have recently opened their doors, but others have called the neighborhood home for decades. Thanks to those businesses with the deepest roots in the community, we learned about a much-loved tradition from the past: Crazy Days.

You may be familiar with the annual Nokomis Shoe Shop Sidewalk Sale, which happens every year over the first weekend in August. However, 30-plus years ago, businesses all along 34th Ave used to hold festivities at the same time. The goal? Drawing people into the neighborhood to celebrate the vibrant nature of Nokomis East.

Nokomis Shoe Shop has continued the Crazy Days legacy every year with their annual sidewalk sale. Last year, we helped bring the celebration back to Nokomis East for the first time in 30 years. This year, it continues, and we've given it a new and even better name to showcase our Nokomis pride.

We hope you'll join us for this year's Nokomis Days.

Join NEBA

While the Nokomis East neighborhood of South Minneapolis is made up of four primary communities (Keewaydin, Minnehaha, Morris Park and Wenonah), we encourage other Nokomis area businesses (outside of the quadrant) to participate in NEBA.
